Faith and the Origin of Disappointment

Faith and the Origin of Disappointment

I was reading one of Pastor Blackman’s Blog post and it hit a heart cord and I said to myself, that I wanted to share this information with my followers. I’ve actually had a wonderful opportunity to sit under his ministry for many years and he has helped me to grow my faith as a believer in God. He is an awesome pastor to follow, gleam and learn from. We are about to enter one of the most well celebrated times of the year; yet  the Holidays can be a difficult time for some. Read below and let your heart not be troubled this Holiday season; but of good cheer, great light, abundance, faith, love and whole well-being. Be encouraged and be blessed. Enjoy the blog.  Kim Evans

Disappointment stems from failing hopes and expectations.  Jeremiah 17:5 tells us, “cursed is the man who trust in man and makes his flesh his strength”.  It happens every day in marriages where spouses put their faith in the institution itself or in their spouse and one day realizes he or she couldn’t be the person in the fairy tale.

Parents suffer disappointments when their hopes for those once cute, smart children end up disasters at life.  Many sicknesses are simply a result of multiple disappointments.  Since Proverbs 17:22 says, “a merry heart does good like medicine, health to the bones”, then the opposite has to be inevitable in that much disappointment is destructive to the body.

One example of the repercussions of disappointments is in the area of diabetes. The pancreas produces insulin to give the body energy. God made the body and all its internal organs to function and synchronize according to His divine design. The pupils expand in the dark to see better. Hair follicles swell and create chill bumps to prevent cold from entering the body and our temperatures rise whenever a virus attacks our bodies in order to burn and kill it. If the body is saddened as a result of constant disappointments, it dictates to the pancreas to cease functioning because the individual doesn’t need any more energy.

The other portion of the scripture in Jeremiah 17 says, “but blessed is the man who puts his trust in God”. Most believers know the scripture but there is no application thereof, which concludes that they are not walking by faith. When we walk and live by faith, our marriages and spouses come under the authority of the word of God and no matter what they do or how they act, it doesn’t shake us. We live knowing that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood. We also live this life knowing our spouses can fail us but God never will.

The same is said for our children. Children are like arrows in the hand of a mighty hunter. As parents, we direct them by the word, and if they seem to have failed our standards we are not moved. Our faith is always in God. As we meditate on God’s word day and night we shall be like trees planted by the rivers of water, never moved. Surprise factor, zero.

Our faith is the victory that causes us to overcome disappointments and everything this world and life confronts us with. Declare now!

-I am strong – I will never be moved by anything – My surprise factor is zero – God’s Word never fails – God watches His Word to perform it – All things work together for my good because I love God and I am called according to His purpose – Disappointment is only evidence of the battle I’m in – I always triumph over all things through Christ Jesus.  Hallelujah!
